We'd love to hear from you About the role As head of technical product specialism, policy and process at Hargreaves Lansdown (HL) you will be leading the practical analysis and application of current rules, regulations, legislation and guidance to support our first line business in the implementation of new and existing technical requirements and expectations. Leading and developing a team of technical product specialists, you will be coordinating process mapping to optimise processes across the Client function at HL, while also supporting strategy delivery, removing inefficiencies and increasing pace. A key part of this pivotal role will include providing insightful thought leadership and technical expertise relating to policy and regulatory change. What you'll be doing Leading the technical product specialism - setting strategy and team goals, managing workloads and competing priorities while demonstrating measurable outcomes and achievements. Providing leadership, coaching, support and development for a team of technical product experts to support the business leads across the Client function and ensure all requirements are consistently delivered. Ensuring the team provide technical first line expertise and support as required for FCA, HMRC and pension consultations. Leading technical reviews of internal policies and processes for accuracy and completeness, including supporting product reviews. Coordinating reviews of terms and conditions, managing the T&Cs universe and cadence in an organised, methodical and clear manner. Supporting the business in the coordination of rules mapping for all rules as they apply to the Client function, to ensure processes and controls deliver all requirements. Developing insightful thought leadership and contributing to forming the internally agreed consistent view where SME technical expertise is required. Working collaboratively with second line colleagues to ensure appropriate risk and compliance oversight is obtained when required. About you Advanced Diploma in Financial Planning or equivalent Deep knowledge of the financial services regulatory and legislative landscape Detailed knowledge of several areas including pensions, ISAs, AE, income tax, CGT and NI as applied to products distributed or recommended by HL, FCA rules and regulations (including COBS, SYSC, UCITS, PRIPS, IAFMD and PROD) Excellent communication skills and ability to influence thinking, provide challenge when necessary, and draft materials for use by senior executives or our regulators Experience of leading, coaching and developing a technical team Ability to manage workloads and competing priorities across a function Experience of mapping to ensure optimisation of processes Salary Up to £90,000 basic salary, depending on experience. Interview process The interview process for this role will involve two stages, including a technical competency interview, followed by a psychometric assessment, presentation and leadership questions. Working schedule This is a full time, permanent role covering 37.5 hours per week. Hybrid working is available, our office is based in central Bristol, BS1 5HL. Why us?
