Your Role As Transport Planner in Transport for Greater Manchester (TfGM) you will play a pivotal role in delivering modelling and appraisal for major transport schemes, contributing to the development of detailed network management strategies and working to mitigate the impact of new development proposals. You will also develop and contribute to corporate responses to planning applications affecting the Greater Manchester Key Route Network. Current work includes supporting the delivery of the GM Clean Air Plan, City Region Sustainable Transport Settlement (CRSTS) and Levelling up fund. In the Highways Forecasting and Analytical Services team, we are committed to support the delivery of a Greater Manchester transport system that operates safely, sustainably and efficiently. We use our analytical expertise and data-driven insights to aid delivery of high-quality transport infrastructure schemes and developments, ultimately improving the experience of the travelling public and supporting healthier and more sustainable choices. You ll have excellent and effective written and verbal communication skills and be keen to develop your understanding of the theory and application of transport planning methods and techniques for Highway model development, forecasting and appraisal. Experience of general-purpose programming languages, such as Python or VB would be advantageous. This is a permenant role with a salary of 31,915- 36,683 per annum depending on skills and experience.
