Assist the Projects Team by providing specialist technical advice for capital improvement works across the Trust.
Management responsibility for allocated trade team in relation to managing sickness absence, rostering, annual leave, and annual appraisals.
Review, agree, and implement service objectives with the Estates manager.
Consult with the Maintenance Helpdesk to mobilise the workforce to respond to problems that may arise.
Collaborate with Estates Managers and other Technical Officers to ensure that planned/reactive maintenance is performed on critical plant and equipment.
Ensure that all required data gathering is as simple, robust, and traceable as possible, to develop a system where information is gathered, stored, and managed in a sustainable and logical way.
Negotiate and liaise with contractors and suppliers.
Make the best use of available resources, both physical and financial.
Participate in Estates On-Call rota, to ensure that emergencies and major problems occurring out of hours are attended to and resolved.
Have knowledge of and implement the Trust Health and Safety Policy, including the issue of, and adherence to, Permits to Work for staff and contractors, managing and ensuring that all documentation and records are kept up to date.
Minimum Requirements:
The ideal candidate will have:
1. Supervisory and leadership experience.
2. The ability to communicate complex and sensitive information.
3. Maths and English GSCE/O Level or equivalent.
4. City and Guilds certificate in a relevant Building or Construction discipline or ONC/HNC or equivalent in Electrical, Engineering, Building or similar discipline.
5. Experience of managing, planning, and budgeting.
6. Confidence in using MS Office including Word and Excel.
7. The ability to undertake 24/7 on-call duties on a rota basis.
8. A holder of a full UK Driving Licence.
