Technical Engineer
Job Location: Near Ringwood, Dorset
Job Type: Permanent
Salary: dependent on level of experience - £30,000 - £42,000 per annum
Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Thursday 8.30am - 5.15pm with a 1pm finish on Friday
Holidays: 22 days rising to 25 with service
An opportunity has arisen to join a small team working with fluid transfer equipment. The role is office-based and will see you dealing with enquiries, helping customers choose the right products for their requirements, with some of these having to be specifically designed or modified. You will also be ordering parts, ensuring shipment is done, answering technical queries, and assisting in the workshop with customer orders.
The role requires someone who is mechanically minded, either time-served or with formal qualifications, and who is competent in using CAD software. This is an exciting role working for a nice company that will see you undertake a variety of tasks.
Some of your duties will include:
1. CAD design work / creation of simple documents
2. System / parts design
3. Parts procurement / liaising with engineering and suppliers
4. Handling sales enquiries, advising of suitable products and sending out quotes for works
5. Technical support for customers / colleagues
6. Running reports on stock management and pricing updates using Excel and the ERP system
7. Helping the technicians with any mechanical trials or works orders in the workshop
Experience required:
1. Mechanical Engineering knowledge either from a college course, apprenticeship, graduate, or time served
2. Experience, knowledge, or exposure to design using a CAD package
3. Technically minded
4. High level of computer / IT literacy
5. Ability to maintain accurate records
