Area Sales Manager / Sales Engineer Manager
Location: South East
Salary: £ Excellent + Achievable 20% Bonus
The Opportunity:
Working for a successful global manufacturer, you will be responsible for implementing successful strategies to assist with continued YOY overall double-digit growth which the organisation has reported over the previous 4 years. As a key member of the UK Sales Team, you will support their vision to become number one in the UK & Ireland, underpinned by £40m of R&D expenditure.
Key Tasks:
1. Identify new business opportunities within the sales territory and use existing database and own prospecting to grow sales.
2. Develop, implement, and update as necessary a customer-centric business action plan aimed at growing sales and influence in the area to achieve ambitious sales growth.
3. Liaise with colleagues in Business Development, Inside Sales and Applications to maximize opportunities and improve customer satisfaction and retention.
4. Track new prospects, develop relationships, and facilitate the quoting or formal tender and procurement process right through to contract signing, implementation and go live into the operation.
5. Contribute to the design, production and effective delivery of high-quality sales presentation and proposals from engineering to board level for prospective customers in accordance with agreed guidelines.
6. Provide and distribute approved marketing materials with the aim of securing sales visits.
7. Build awareness of market trends and competitor products/activity.
8. Use existing data base and own prospecting to grow sales.
9. Work with existing customers to maximize business opportunities.
10. Maintain sales pipeline and forecasting tool.
11. Keep the CRM and other reporting requirements updated.
12. Build, utilize and communicate with key internal and external stakeholders within the business to continuously improve your understanding and knowledge of the solution offerings.
13. Plan and prepare monthly presentation for Sales Meetings, to report business to date and forecast data.
14. Work in accordance with all health and safety instructions – your safety and health are paramount. Always report any unsafe conditions, accidents or near misses.
Travel Requirements:
1. Regular UK – primarily within sales territory
2. Infrequent travel within EMEA region for meetings/training
Qualification(s) and Experience:
1. Professional qualification in Electrical /Mechatronic/ Mechanical Engineering. Degree/HND.
2. Strong commercial background in selling industrial products.
3. Appreciation of the technical capabilities of products and the ability to sell their advantages.
4. New business development experience.
5. Drive and motor application knowledge would be advantageous.
