Benign Urology Nurse Practitioner - Hampshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust
We have an exciting opportunity to join our urology clinical specialist team within the field of benign urology. The post holder will work as an autonomous practitioner, providing nurse-led clinical activity within the benign urology team structure.
The role includes:
1. Performing diagnostic procedures such as Urodynamics, Lower urinary tract symptom assessment, and prostate volume measurement.
2. Supporting one-stop clinical assessments for patients undergoing bladder outflow surgery.
3. Delivering intravesical treatments for benign bladder conditions.
4. Assisting patients in performing self-trial without catheter post-surgery and supporting the Trial without catheter clinic.
5. Working alongside and supporting the band 4 urology nursing associate.
Full training will be provided to the successful candidate. The urology services are carried out on three hospital sites within Hampshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
Responsibilities
To practice autonomously, carrying a caseload of patients and supporting the team in the delivery of a seven-day, twenty-four-hour service. This includes:
1. Maintaining high standards of professional practice to ensure quality and safety of patient care.
2. Supporting the Team Leader in the productivity and financial management of a clinical area.
3. Leading by example.
4. Ensuring compliance with clinical services delivery and achieving all compliance requirements such as CQC and contractual requirements.
5. Undertaking comprehensive assessments of patients, including those with complex presentations.
