Research Nurse - Acute Research Delivery Team

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Acute Research Delivery Team (ARDT) as a Research Nurse at Salford Care Organisation. This post is funded as part of the Thromboprophylaxis in Lower Limb Immobilisation (TiLLI) trial (NIHR 154716). The successful candidate will work directly on the screening, recruitment, and overall management of this important multicentre study.
TiLLI is focused on evaluating the effectiveness and cost-effectiveness of different pharmacological prophylaxis methods for patients with temporary lower limb immobilisation.
As a Research Nurse, you will play a crucial role in the delivery of clinical trials across the Trauma and Emergency Care and Critical Care portfolios. Your responsibilities will include:
* Screening and recruiting eligible participants for the TiLLI trial and other studies.
* Educating participants about the trial, ensuring they fully understand its purpose, and obtaining informed consent.
* Collecting and recording study data accurately and in accordance with Good Clinical Practice (GCP).
* Administering interventions and treatments as outlined in study protocols.
* Monitoring participants' safety and promptly reporting any adverse events.
* Ensuring that all study documentation is maintained and stored securely.
To be successful in this role, you need to have strong interpersonal and excellent communication skills, be organised and detail oriented.
Previous proven experience working within Trauma and/or Emergency Care and/or Critical Care environment are essential for this role.
While prior experience in a clinical research setting is advantageous, it is not essential. Full training and support will be provided.

Person Specification
NMC Registered Nurse
* Diploma/Degree or equivalent qualification in Nursing.
* Current NMC registration OR HCPC registered.
* Holds current certificates in ICH/GCP and Research Governance or working towards.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
* Able to deliver a high standard of evidence-based individual patient care in line with Trust/regulatory agency policies and protocols.
* Effective communicator with good leadership and interpersonal skills.
* Evidence of professional and clinical expertise acquired through CPD and experience.
* Evidence of involvement and leadership in teaching and mentoring learners.
* Evidence of experience at self-management within a given area.
* Evidence of ability to work across a number of projects and to maintain documentation to a high standard.
* Evidence of good computer literacy.
* Competency in basic nursing skills including venepuncture, cannulation, IV infusions, performing ECGs etc.
* Proven experience of working within a Trauma and/or Emergency Care and/or Critical Care environment.
* Research experience or relevant clinical experience.
