Working hours and salary:
Full Time – Flexibility when required for emergencies.
Pay is dependent on experience up to £18.00 per hour
Who we’re looking for:
Job Summary
* To assist the Home Manager by scheduling, managing and fulfilling general maintenance tasks, Fire Safety Checks, Health and Safety monitoring (e.g. water testing, equipment maintenance schedules), liaising with subcontractors on site, completion of risk assessments for the home and own activities and checks and comprehensive record keeping for the home.
* To maintain the home in good decorative and working order.
* To carry out daily tasks as detailed in the home's maintenance book and as requested by senior staff at the home.
* To keep the outside space clean and clear of hazards, ensuring rubbish collection and yard maintenance/cleaning are carried out.
* To work in liaison with the care and housekeeping team and assist with any tasks as required.
* In the event of accidental spillage or contact with cleaning agents refer to COSHH regulations for appropriate action.
* To adopt safe working practice at all times and ensure the safety of yourself, residents, relatives, staff, subcontractors and any volunteers in relation to the environment.
* Maintain a safe and hygienic working environment and ensure all tasks are carried out in accordance with general Health and Safety regulations, liaising with the management team in respect of maintaining appropriate control measures are in place to protect the home.
* Maintain strict confidentiality in relation to anything you may hear, see or be told concerning the residents, staff, relatives and volunteers.
* Cultivate good working relationships and communication with other staff members.
* Ensure personal protective equipment is worn at all times as necessary and update the home manager of any requirements.
* Attend training as and when required by the home manager or senior team.
* Attend supervisions/appraisals with the home manager on a bi-monthly basis.
* Ordering/purchasing of maintenance/building products and cleaning products.
* Cleaning of carpets throughout the home.
* Storing away of supplies and deliveries.
* Steam cleaning/infection control.
This Job description is not exhaustive and the post holder may be required to undertake any other duties that may within reason be required from time to time. The post holder will also be expected to demonstrate a flexible approach and the ability to carry out the responsibilities of the role in accordance with the needs of the home.
