Key focus areas for the Department in teaching and research include the integration of Indigenous cultural knowledges across the courses and the embedding of Lived Experience across the Department. About the opportunity Provides supervision & mentorship – Offers regular social work supervision to students who may not have a qualified social worker at their placement, helping them integrate theory with practice. Supports professional development – Guides students in developing core social work skills, ethical decision-making, and reflective practice to enhance their learning experience. Monitors progress & evaluates performance – Assesses students’ growth, provides constructive feedback, and ensures they meet their learning goals and professional competencies. About you A Social Work degree qualification recognised by The Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW). A minimum of 2 years post graduate, social work practice experience Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective student growth, stakeholder engagement and evaluation of student progress. Varied availability during office hours and a wiliness to travel to agency sites (within reasonable distance of your base) The External Field Educator role is delivered regularly at approximately 2hrs per week, per student. Note : A current National Police Clearance Certificate, Working with Children Check, and “C” class driver’s licence will be required by the successful applicant.
