About the role This client-facing consultant role requires a deep understanding of customer pain points and the ability to translate these into effective software solutions. While there is an expectation to deliver technically on projects, the primary focus will be on providing technical leadership and demonstrating a genuine curiosity about the client. This role is ideal for someone passionate about engaging in the various facets of a software consultancy position. Day to day responsibilities Talking to customers and users about problems that digital technology can solve. Proactively seeking out opportunities to contribute to the development of the department. Contributing and sometimes leading on a variety of software projects over a range of industries and sectors (see tech stack below) Mentoring less experienced software developers and contributing to the learning and growth of the software department. The technology stack of the team is below. You will not be expected to be a technical authority in any of these, but it is important to understand what the team use and where you can contribute: C#/.NET React Azure DevOps, full lifecycle including build and deployment pipelines Services in Microsoft Azure – Azure Functions, SQL Server, Cosmos DB, etc Some of the skills we are looking for Essential Demonstrable experience working on web development projects using C#/ .NET. An understanding of what makes a high performing software development team, including aspects from agile delivery, good DevOps practices, and the secure software development lifecycle. Confidence in speaking about software solutions to existing and prospective customers. Ability and willingness to travel on occasion to client sites. Nice to have Experience working in a consultancy role is desirable, but any regular experience talking to customers (internal or external) is of interest. Desire to keep up to date with the latest trends in software development.
