Our leading construction client are currently recruiting for an Operations Manager to join and manage their company. Within this role you will contribute to the day-to-day running of the business, oversee operational activity and help to create an effective and efficient workplace environment. Job Role: Operations Manager Location:Across a number of Contractual sites in N Ireland Offices are based within each contractual area with some office-based work required. Hours of Work:Full Time 37.5 hrs per week Reporting to:Operations Director Job Status:Permanent Role Overview: The Operations Manager will be responsible for the successful delivery, through your key team members including sub-contractors, of operations within your areas of responsibility. Operations - Key Activities / Responsibilities: Supporting the Contracts Managers, Site Supervisors & Foremen in the successful delivery of all relevant Site Operations Building and maintaining positive working relationships with the relevant Contracted bodies/boards. Meeting them on a regular basis and establishing strong lines of communication, to ensure issues are identified and resolved in a timely manner. Overdue works ensure your Operations Supervisors / Site Supervisors / Foremen and teams on the ground are focused on closing down jobs to the highest quality and to deadline. Always checking your workstreams to ensure jobs are efficiently managed and you are up to date on all jobs at all times. You will be fully responsible in ensuring that you are successfully resourced for direct workers and sub-contractors. Ensuring that your Site Supervisors / Foreman and teams have all materials ordered and on time ahead of jobs. Ensure workflow on all sites is moving, on-going and at a steady pace. Working through and in support of your Supervisors and Foremen to ensure there is focus on the work of your direct staff and your sub-contractors to ensure work is being progressed to the company and legislative standards of compliance and quality and that work is completed to deadline. Keeping the Director, Head of Contracts, Contracts Managers, Site Supervisors & Foremen and the administration team contacts in the offices updated on a regular basis on job progress etc. Compliance with all relevant company procedures within your sites of responsibility Develop and maintain strong working relationships with all relevant staff, sub-contractors and clients in order to maximise business opportunities on existing and new work projects, while promoting a culture within your sites to do the same. To compile performance checks & reports to help weekly monitoring of the performance within your sites. To ensure that staff training needs in relation to their works are continually assessed and that individuals are directed towards relevant training to the benefit of the company and the individual. Keep a close eye on spend within your sites, ensuring cost effectiveness is achieved throughout. Manage and ensure HR requirements are carefully monitored and managed alongside the HR Function. Ensure that statutory legislation, company HSQE policies, processes and procedures are implemented. Act as focal point for your direct staff and sub-contractors to report to, ensuring excellent communication lines are in place and you are kept abreast of all appropriate operational activities. Ensure targets set within your sites by your Contracts Manager are delivered in a timely manner and monitored regularly, correcting non-conformance in a timely and appropriate manner, always ensuring a culture of continuous improvement and development. Attend any client, and staff meetings, representing the company in a strong positive light while building and maintaining good relationships. Education / Experience: Essential: Solution focused approach at all times 3 - 5 years similar role experience working at a middle management operational level in the construction industry Proven track record in managing and dealing with multiple projects with operational staff Be able to demonstrate the knowledge and experience required to complete a project under budget taking into consideration challenging time constraints Experience of working in a fast paced, multi project, KPI pressured target environment Strong people management experience and excellent communication skills, with ability to lead, motivate and inspire excellent performance from your team Working knowledge of Health & Safety legislation for the construction industry A proactive and flexible working approach with the ability to adapt quickly to changing situations Desirable Construction related qualification QS / commercial background Skills/Competencies: Problem solving, solutions-based approach is essential for this role Leadership & People Management Budgetary & Financial/commercial management Influencing, negotiation and interpersonal communication Self-assertion and personal impact Decision Making Customer Service Standard Benefits: Mobile Phone Paid Holidays Parking Pension Fund Company Vehicle
