Managing Quantity Surveyor

Up to £85,000 plus company package
We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Managing Quantity Surveyor to join one of the UK's largest contractors working on HS2. This role is part of the Environmental package within the Midlands. The business is a leader in the civil engineering and infrastructure sector.
This position will involve working as part of the Structures team. The scheme will span over 5 years initially, with a strong order book within the region. The role will focus on major structures and technical elements.
Role Purpose:
Our client is looking for candidates with experience in managing all commercial aspects of the scheme and leading a team.
Duties:
1. Measure, record & value work unsupervised in accordance with appropriate rules and procedures.
2. Measure & interpret specifications & drawings.
3. Translate measurement from drawings and specifications and prepare Bills of Quantities and Schedules of rates if required.
4. Review weekly, monthly, section programmes of works.
5. Plan commercial activities to meet monthly timescales.
6. Collation of Cost and Value Information.
7. Preparation of Cost reconciliation statements.
8. Submission and Agreement of Adjustment Events with Client.
9. Collect information required to specify procurement requirements.
10. Understand the steps/documentation required.
11. Assist Procurement function where required.
12. Collation of cost and value information.
13. Management of Sub Contractors Accounts.
Experience:
1. BSc or MSc in Quantity Surveying or equivalent experience.
2. Experience working as a Managing Quantity Surveyor for a main contractor in civil engineering.
