Clinical Responsibilities:
1. To provide specialist psychological assessments of clients referred to the teams, utilizing various data sources including psychological and neuropsychological tests, self-report measures, rating scales, direct and indirect structured observations, and semi-structured interviews.
2. To formulate and implement plans for the formal psychological treatment and/or management of service users' problems based on an appropriate conceptual framework.
3. To work daily in face-to-face individual, family, and/or group therapy settings with service users presenting with complex psychological and neuropsychological problems.
4. To be responsible for implementing a range of specialist psychological interventions for individuals, carers, families, and groups.
5. To evaluate and make decisions about treatment options considering historical and developmental processes that have shaped the individual, family, or group.
6. To exercise autonomous professional responsibility for the assessment, treatment, and discharge of service users.
7. To provide specialist psychological advice, guidance, and consultation to other professionals contributing to service users' formulation, diagnosis, and treatment plans.
8. To contribute to a psychologically based framework of understanding and care across all settings and agencies serving the service user group.
9. To undertake risk assessment and risk management for individual service users.
10. To coordinate intervention plans, taking responsibility for initiating planning and reviews.
11. To communicate skilled and sensitive information concerning assessment, formulation, and treatment plans of service users.
Teaching, Training, and Supervision:
1. To receive regular clinical professional supervision in accordance with professional practice guidelines.
2. To gain wider post-qualification knowledge, skills, and experience through further experience and specialist supervision.
3. To provide supervision to other MDT staff's psychological work and assistant psychologists.
4. To contribute to the pre- and post-qualification teaching of clinical psychology.
5. To provide advice, consultation, and training to staff working with the service user group.
Management, Recruitment, Policy, and Service Development:
1. To contribute to the development, evaluation, and monitoring of the team's operational policies and services.
2. To advise management on psychological and organizational matters.
3. To manage the workloads of assistant psychologists.
4. To be involved in the short-listing and interviewing of assistant psychologists.
5. To implement policies and propose changes to ensure the highest standards of service.
