Cardiff council is looking to recruit a Supported Accommodation and Assessment Manager to manage the Family and Young Peoples Service that sits within the newly created Specialist Housing and Support Section.
Cardiff, like many other cities across the United Kingdom, is currently trying to adapt to the pressures being felt within the Housing sector. The Specialist housing service is facing unprecedented challenges, and we are looking for a candidate that can lead this large and diverse section.
This Service provides accommodation, advice, and support to families and young people in housing need who have complex support needs.
The service is substantial and has a wide range of residential buildings across its broad portfolio. The services within the section run 24/7, 365 days a year.
This role will have coordination responsibilities for the Young Persons Multi-disciplinary Team; therefore, this role will involve extensive partnership work.

The role of Supported Accommodation and Assessment Manager is an exciting opportunity for a committed individual to manage our accommodation and support services.
The post will have responsibility over all aspects of managing a large, supported accommodation portfolio.
The Supported Accommodation and Assessment Manager will be responsible for:
* Managing the council's Family and Young Persons Supported Accommodation service, offering units of accommodation across multiple buildings.
* Accommodating service users, with a range of complex support needs and managing staff members, across a 24-hour period, 365 days a year.
* Managing and controlling the service budget.
* Contributing to the development of new accommodation and modifying existing accommodation to increase available units.
* Coordinating the Young Persons Multi-disciplinary Team.
* Managing the Council’s relationship with relevant external partners, ensuring effective communication, task coordination, and challenging service decisions as appropriate.

We are looking for dynamic, motivated, and creative individuals with the ability to foster positive relationships. The post holder will need to have team management experience and the ability to lead and support a busy team.
This is an exciting opportunity, and we are looking for a committed individual to make a real difference. Proven experience of working with people with a range of behaviours and an understanding of the issues faced by homeless families and individuals will be an advantage.
The working environment can be challenging, so the ability to remain calm under pressure will be an advantage. The role will require the successful candidate to support the management team with all aspects of the service.
