Position Details: Role : SEN Teaching Assistant Location : Levenshulme, Manchester Start Date : October Duration : Full-time, until the end of the academic year (with potential to become permanent) Pay : £419.25 - £500 per week, depending on experience and qualifications Key Responsibilities: As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with students who have a range of additional learning needs, providing essential support to help them succeed both academically and socially. Your responsibilities will include: Working one-on-one or in small groups with students who have SEN, including learning difficulties, autism spectrum conditions (ASC), ADHD, and other developmental needs Supporting the classroom teacher in delivering tailored lessons and adapting teaching materials to meet individual needs Helping students to stay focused and engaged in their learning, ensuring they can participate fully in classroom activities Assisting with the implementation of personalised education plans (IEPs), working closely with the SENCO and teaching staff to monitor student progress Providing emotional and behavioural support to students, helping to promote a positive and inclusive learning environment Encouraging students to develop independence and confidence, both inside and outside of the classroom Assisting with any additional needs students may have, including mobility, communication, or sensory requirements Supporting teachers with marking, feedback, and classroom organisation to ensure all students are reaching their full potential What We're Looking For: Experience working with children or young people with SEN, either in a school setting or through other related roles A calm, patient, and empathetic approach to supporting students with additional needs Excellent communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents A proactive and flexible attitude, with the ability to adapt to different learning styles and challenges Previous experience in education or a related field is desirable, though not essential Why This Role?
