This role, part of the Commercial Team, involves the development and evaluation of changes and variations, including preparing cashflows, forecasts, and cost control and management. It also requires close collaboration with the post-contract QS teams to manage the commercial aspects of subcontractors and self-delivery teams.
The role encompasses all aspects of construction, including structures, technical services, traffic signalling, and road traffic electronic signage across the M25 network.
What You’ll Be Doing
* Collaborating with the team of estimators to develop and define changes to the works and price variations for the project.
* Working closely with project Quantity Surveyors to refine cost models, pricing baselines for changes, and conducting cost verification audits of framework subcontractors.
* Developing and maintaining a working knowledge of the bespoke DBFO contract, acting as the first point of contact for day-to-day contractual queries.
* Gaining the opportunity to work with and use Candy pricing software.
* Refining forecast and P&L models.
* Preparing weekly and monthly budget/cost reports and participating in budget/cost reviews.
* Assisting in preparing monthly reports for the CPS Senior Team, including progress updates, fees earned, costs to date, forecasts, and EVM.
* Operating as a Senior QS on one of the largest road projects in Europe.
Who We’re Looking For
* Experience in highways works and strong knowledge of road structures, traffic monitoring, signalling, and electronic signage equipment.
* Proven expertise in both pre-contract and post-contract Quantity Surveying disciplines.
* Strong negotiation skills with clients, stakeholders, and supply chain partners.
* Relevant experience in the commercial management of NEC subcontracts (despite the bespoke nature of the contract).
* Membership of a relevant professional body and/or working towards a qualification such as RICS, CIOB, or CInstCES (desirable).
* A valid CSCS card.
Working Arrangements
We have offices in Dartford, Leatherhead, and South Mimms and offer flexibility regarding your base location. A hybrid working approach is available, with a minimum expectation of spending 60% of your time in the office. This role is expected to lead by example.
