The Role:
The role is placed within MBNL’s Finance Department (~35 people), in the Financial Accounting and Reporting Team. The team is responsible for all aspects of financial reporting (management and statutory), financial compliance, accounts receivable and payable functions, as well as internal and external audits.
You will manage the Shareholder’s Unilateral Project financial reporting and the associated audit requirements, internal reviews of financial controls and risks, as well as facilitate and support external audit requests (statutory, internal, and ad hoc).
What you will do:
1. Produce and distribute monthly reports consolidating information from multiple 3rd party outsourced providers.
2. Ensure completeness and accuracy and reconcile back to the General Ledger.
3. Facilitate Shareholder’s unilateral audits, including early engagement and planning, internal and external communication, coordination of information requests, and providing explanations for satisfactory completion.
4. Review MBNL’s financial risks and controls register and policies, carrying out internal compliance testing.
5. Update/create necessary financial policies and procedures.
6. Interact with other Finance teams to support the explanation of finance results, conveying complex data transactions to various areas of the business.
7. Review and prioritize audit requests and provide required information in a timely manner.
8. Assess the quality of information provided and ensure clarity and accuracy.
9. Liaise with relevant stakeholders to ensure the audit is progressing smoothly.
10. Create/update and review existing Unilateral Accounting Policies to ensure they are up to date.
11. Provide ad hoc support to the financial accounting and reporting team as needed.
What we are looking for:
1. Newly or recently qualified Accountant – with a minimum of 1-2 years industry/commercial experience.
2. Professional Qualification – ACA, ACCA & CIMA.
3. Recent audit experience with the ability to request audit samples.
4. Process Management - Ability to spot opportunities to continuously improve and streamline processes.
5. Good understanding of financial policies, procedures, and risks and controls.
6. Exposure to handling budgets, forecasts, and variance analysis.
7. Strong understanding of auditing principles and practices.
8. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
9. Experience in working with multiple ERP systems and ability to work on Excel.
10. Strong stakeholder engagement and business partnership experience.
