Hospice Specialty Doctor (Palliative Medicine)
Hours: 27.2 hours as follows:
24 hours a week (6 sessions)
Requirement to work 1 in 5 weekends (calculates as an average 3.2 hours a week)
Requirement to cover 1 night on call per week (paid as additional on call allowance)
Salary: £44,720 to £78,000 (FTE) plus additional night on call allowance of £7,280 per annum.
Actual pay £30,409 to £53,040 plus on call allowance (subject to pay review) per annum.

About the Role
As a Hospice Specialty Doctor, you will play a crucial role in ensuring patients with life-limiting illnesses receive the highest standards of specialist palliative care. Your responsibilities will include:
1. Delivering expert clinical care to inpatients.
2. Working closely with a highly skilled multidisciplinary team to support patients and their families.
3. Contributing to the education and development of local GP Trainees and medical students, enhancing their understanding of palliative care.
4. Gaining valuable experience in a setting that encourages professional development and career progression.
About the Hospice
Situated just minutes from Junction 32 of the M62, The Prince of Wales Hospice serves a population of 185,000 in East Wakefield. Our facilities include:
1. A 14-bed inpatient unit, designed to the highest standards to provide comfort and dignity.
2. A comprehensive wellbeing service for patients and families.
3. The district’s only specialist Lymphoedema service.
4. Dedicated counselling, physiotherapy, and occupational therapy support.
