As a Mechanical Maintenance Fitter, your role will be to ensure all equipment associated with the incineration process is running safely and efficiently, using both proactive and reactive maintenance methods. You will contribute to the preventative maintenance and defect rectification on all plant and equipment, while implementing a culture of continuous improvement.
Roles & Responsibilities
1. Carry out planned maintenance in accordance with the computerised maintenance job cards and report any irregularities.
2. Interact with operations personnel regarding fault finding, testing, modifications to process requirements, and carry out defect rectification in line with the defect reporting system.
3. Carry out isolations as necessary in conjunction with maintenance/operations requests.
4. Respond reactively to “break down” situations in a timely manner to help the company achieve continuous plant availability.
5. Work alongside contractors during outages when larger maintenance works are carried out.
6. Effectively react to changes in circumstances and unplanned emergencies in relation to Plant and equipment.
7. Assist other maintenance personnel as required.
8. Liaise with contractors as the need arises.
9. Work at height and in confined spaces.
10. Ensure plant cleaning schedules are fulfilled to a satisfactory standard.
11. Report when stock levels reach re-order level for all items of spares and consumables.
Qualifications/Experience/Skills
1. Time served apprenticeship or equivalent qualifications in mechanical discipline.
2. HNC, HND desirable but not essential.
3. CSCS / CCNSG.
4. Experience in a similar role.
5. Ability to read technical drawings.
