Assistant Underwriter (High Net Worth) Up to £28,000 (Dependent on Experience) The role is a hybrid role, therefore will involve a mix of working from home and from our Halifax office. We have an exciting opportunity to join our HNW Department as an Assistant Underwriter here at Covéa Insurance. In this role, you will actively contribute and assist the HNW department in achieving the budgeted new business GWP, retention and rate strength targets, whilst providing first class service. You will develop and maintain excellent relationships in order to assist the profitable growth of our HNW accounts. What will I be doing? Underwriting new quotations, renewals or adjustments, transacting new business, and issuing documentation accurately in accordance with Covéa’s service level agreements Prospecting and actively contributing to the profitability & retention targets of the HNW department Underwriting whilst understanding the impact & risk management factors into account by seeking referrals or liaising with those that have specialist knowledge where necessary Proving your own technical competence in handling mid & high net worth cases in accordance with Covéa’s guidelines/risk appetite and within limits of authority Working on specific projects and/or training for others as and when required Managing your own portfolio of work in accordance with agreed service, technical, output standards, accuracy & TCF requirements Developing and maintaining excellent relationships with colleagues, brokers & direct clients by undertaking external visits, review meetings and social events Maintaining an excellent working knowledge of all HNW products, procedures, underwriting guides and Management Information What would we like to see in you… Strong planning and organisational skills with the ability to work to a deadline Effective communication skills with the ability to build relationships with internal and external parties An ability to work collaboratively with other HNW teams, actively listening to others and demonstrating their understanding with appropriate follow-up actions Ability to identify actual and potential challenges A desire to achieve the highest professional standards and find ways to go the extra mile, acting on feedback & constantly seeking to improve performance A “can do” attitude and willingness to try new things, proactively seeking solutions and opportunities to learn and grow Cert CII qualified or working towards CII Qualifications 6 months experience within HNW or personal lines insurances, with MI & Analytical skills We understand that some candidates may be hesitant to apply for a position if they do not meet all the criteria listed in the job description.
