Aspiring Youth Worker

We are looking for a dedicated Aspiring Youth Worker to support children with moderate learning difficulties and additional mental health needs. This school is based in Worthing for children aged 6-16 and has specialized in SEMH to provide exceptional education and support for traumatized children and young people.
You will be helping children who have come from trauma/neglected backgrounds, challenging behavior, ADHD or Autism and also have developed mental health issues due to their needs and require additional support with improving social, emotional and mental well-being.

Responsibilities of an Aspiring Youth Worker:
* Assist the class teacher in providing the learning experience of students.
* Provide behavior and pastoral support.
* Take an active role in forward planning with therapists.
* Adopt a practical approach to meet the individual needs of students.
* Willing to work 1:1 and in small groups with students.
* Ensure safeguarding of students, in line with procedures.
* Attend staff meetings and complete appropriate CPD.

* Have an understanding of challenging behavior.
* Always be adaptable in any given situation.
* Ability to develop trusting and positive relationships with students.
