About the Job:
The Head of Quality is responsible for overseeing all aspects of quality assurance and control within the organization. This role will lead and develop a high-performing quality team, establish and maintain robust environmental & quality systems, and drive continuous improvement initiatives that consistently meet or exceed customer expectations and regulatory requirements.
Essential Functions:
* Develop and execute the long-term quality strategy: Align the quality strategy across all UK sites with the overall business objectives and ensure it supports organizational growth and success.
* Develop and implement a comprehensive quality management system (QMS): This includes defining quality policies, procedures, and work instructions in accordance with ISO 9001 and ISO14001 and other standards which may be imposed by customers.
* Lead and mentor a high-performing multisite Quality Assurance team: Oversee the development and execution of departmental goals and objectives.
* Oversee all quality control and assurance activities: This includes risk management, supplier quality, process audits, and corrective/preventive action implementation.
* Investigate and resolve quality issues: Conduct root cause analysis, containment implement corrective and preventive actions, and track progress.
* Monitor and analyse key quality metrics: Track and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) such as defect rates, customer complaints, and process capability.
* Drive continuous improvement initiatives: Lead and participate in process improvement projects (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma) to enhance quality and efficiency.
* Maintain regulatory compliance: Ensure compliance with all relevant regulatory requirements and industry standards.
* Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders: Collaborate effectively with other departments (e.g., production, engineering, customer service) and external partners (e.g., suppliers, customers).
* Develop and implement a robust training and development program for the Quality Assurance team: Ensure the team has the necessary skills and knowledge to effectively perform their roles.
Requirements:
Qualifications/Experience:
* Bachelor’s degree in engineering, science, or a related field.
* 7+ years of experience in a Quality Assurance leadership role within a regulated manufacturing environment.
* Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Proven ability to drive change and achieve results.
* Quality Management Systems (QMS): Deep understanding of ISO 9001, ISO14001, and other relevant industry standards.
* Quality Tools & Methodologies: Proficiency in tools like Six Sigma, Lean, statistical process control (SPC), 8D root cause analysis, and risk assessment.
* Data Analysis & Interpretation: Analysing quality data, identifying trends, and drawing meaningful insights.
* Regulatory Compliance: Ensuring adherence to all relevant regulations and industry standards.
