An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Breast Care Nursing Team of Breast Test Wales which is part of the Screening Division of Public Health Wales.We are recruiting apart-time Senior Breast Care Nurse to work within the North Wales team, covering centres in Llandudno and Wrexham. Main duties of the job You will be responsible for delivering direct care and support to individuals who have been recalled for assessment following their routine screening mammogram, whilst also leading a small team and ensuring high quality care is delivered. As a leader, you will play a key role in mentoring and supporting staff, fostering a culture of continuous learning, professional development and service improvement. You will be expected to provide psychological support, evidence-based information, and advice to individuals diagnosed with breast cancer and breast disease, thereby assisting them in making informed decisions regarding treatment options. Additionally, you will contribute to quality improvement initiatives, identifying opportunities to enhance service delivery, streamline processes, and implement best practices in breast care nursing. You should be committed to team building, delivering a high-quality service, and driving continuous improvement. Experience in oncology or breast screening along with knowledge of the principles and practice of breast cancer nursing, is essentialor a willingness to undertake study to acquire these qualifications. Excellent communication skills are essential, with evidence of recent and continuing professional development. The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
