VANRATH are delighted to be assisting our client, a large and well-known Public Sector Organisation with the recruitment of a Communications Officer to join their team based in Belfast. This is a Full-Time Monday - Friday position. 37 hours per week. Monday - Friday 9 - 5. Salary £33,000 - £40,200 per annum, plus benefits. Responsibilities: Respond to media inquiries and draft news releases, statements, and content. Build relationships with media and internal teams. Support crisis communication efforts. Develop and implement communication plans across digital and traditional channels. Monitor media coverage and identify emerging issues. Provide out-of-hours support when needed. Support communication strategies and initiatives across departments. Essential Criteria: Degree or equivalent qualification. At least two years' experience in a communications/press office role. Experience in media inquiries, communication plans, stakeholder relationships, and social media content creation. Strong planning, writing, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work under pressure. Access to transport. Desirable Criteria: Public sector communications experience. Membership of a relevant professional body.
