Job Description
My client, a boutique asset management firm, is looking to hire a senior Macro Researcher to help frame and present the firm's view across fixed income and equity asset classes in emerging markets.
Job summary:
As an EM Macro Researcher & Strategist, you will focus primarily on developing and presenting a broad strategic and tactical asset allocation across different products, markets, and jurisdictions within the Emerging Market sphere.
Job responsibilities:
1. Research and summarize concisely the broad view across fixed income and equities in emerging markets.
2. Develop an internal model to assess fixed income and equity valuations as a function of macroeconomic indicators or other markets.
3. Highlight the tensions between market pricing and macro outlook in a probabilistic/scenario analysis framework.
4. Liaise with the investment team to facilitate communication around changes in views and outlook, evolving with the changing macro outlook.
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills:
1. Experience in financial Emerging Markets and a strong understanding of the interaction between macro data/geopolitical events and market pricing.
2. Clear and effective communication skills (both verbal and written).
3. A master’s degree in economics and finance with coursework in quantitative disciplines (statistics, econometrics), asset pricing, financial economics, macroeconomics, and scenario analysis.
4. Strong data analysis and solid programming skills are required.
5. Genuine intellectual curiosity and passion about the broad interaction between macro outlook and financial markets.
