We have a great opportunity for a Senior Finance Analyst to join our team within Vistry Northern Home Counties at our office in Milton Keynes, Buckinghamshire. We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Senior Finance Analyst to join our Group finance team.
To manage the joint venture activities for the Region, supporting the Regional Finance Director and Team in providing financial and commercial analysis. Developing and managing excellent relationships with our joint venture partners. Assisting in the provision of internal and external reporting and financial control, focused on joint venture activities for the Northern Home Counties business unit.
Responsibilities:
* Support the Financial Reporting Manager in the preparation of the Group’s external results for both the Half Year and Year End, whilst working closely with the external auditors and other relevant stakeholders across the business from planning to completion.
* Review existing financial reporting processes, suggest improvements and see the implementation of these improvements from start to finish.
* Build relationships with business unit Finance teams, communicating regularly and assisting/guiding local teams on application of accounting policies and preparation of information for Group submissions.
* Provide insight into technical accounting areas.
* Lead the preparation and coordination of the material subsidiary financial statements working with all stakeholders to ensure that the accounts are prepared, audited, reviewed and filed on time.
* Own and manage all things leases and fixed assets across the Group, including the preparation of registers, review of business unit submissions and being the “go to expert”.
* Assist the wider Group Finance team in the Payroll posting and recharge process including performing monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
* Produce joint venture budgets, forecasts and monthly management accounts to deadlines.
* Prepare reports for JV Board Packs.
* Distribute sales forecast updates and prepare adhoc reporting such as covenant compliance, occupations for S106 and plot stage updates.
* Develop and maintain strong working relationships with joint venture partners through regular updates and communication.
* Prepare weekly cashflow forecasts and manage funding requirements with partners, including loan facility administration.
* Complete monthly management information relating to our joint venture activities, including full balance sheet reconciliations.
* Monitor performance against management plans to ensure that all results, trends and risks are clearly understood and communicated.
* Work closely with the commercial team to ensure forecasts are accurate and reconciled to ledgers and financial forecasts. Challenge the information provided and identify potential risks and opportunities.
* Work with external advisors and cost consultants to facilitate regular draw down of costs.
* Respond to year end and interim audit queries and work with Group statutory team to ensure timely filing of JV financial statements.
* Control joint venture overheads and raise accruals, prepayments, work in progress drawdowns and relevant journals.
* Raise sales invoices and chase and report outstanding debtors.
* Raise purchase orders and code invoices for relevant joint venture overhead costs.
Qualifications:
* Experience in consolidation/working within a large Group.
* Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously in line with strict deadlines.
* Experience within audit practice.
* Experience working with or for external auditors.
* Experience building relationships with a wide range of colleagues.
* Highly proficient in Microsoft Office, Excel, Outlook.
* High level of attention to detail.
* Excellent organisational skills and analytical skills.
* Good Maths and IT skills.
* Ability to work to a high degree of accuracy.
* Comfortable reading accounting standards and interpreting appropriate accounting.
* Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
* Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

* Experience with joint venture entities.
* Experience preparing financial statements under IFRS, FRS101 and FRS 102.

* Experience of a large Group listed company’s half year and/or full year reporting process.
* Ability to analyse a set of financial statements and understand what they tell us about the business and their performance, and identifying where something appears unusual.
