What is the purpose of this job?
Lennon is the system that allocates and apportions rail sales revenue to companies that operate the railway. The Future Lennon Programme seeks to replace the current system with one that enables a more realistic approach to data allocation based on near real-life journeys taken by passengers.
This role focuses on overseeing and coordinating the broader stakeholder, administrative and commercial activities within the Programme, ensuring alignment with programme objectives. The role ensures the smooth operation and governance of the Programme, including seamless management of Change Requests (CRs), aligning costs with anticipated efforts and commercial agreements. This role supports activities by maintaining compliance with RDG standards through diligent documentation and reporting.
To ensure success, this role requires strong collaboration with internal teams across the Programme as well as within RDG and with suppliers, particularly in managing key documentation (such as meeting minutes, change requests and contract variations).
What can I expect to do in this job?
This isn’t an exhaustive list, but things you can expect to be involved with include:
1. Change Request Management
Oversee commercial activities such as the Change Request (CR) and Contract Change Note (CCN) processes. From preparation to approval, ensuring changes are commercially sensible, accurate, and reflect the programme’s requirements.
§ Prepare draft CR based on requirements agreed and signed off by other members of the team.
§ Lead the coordination of the CR approval process, including getting the CR signed off with the deliverables, milestones and implementation plan to be provided by the supplier.
§ Draft CCNs for approved CRs, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
§ Support the process to ensure CCNs are approved and signed off by all relevant parties.
2. Commercial Activities
§ Support commercial activities by recording and forecasting project costs.
§ Liaise with internal colleagues from legal, finance and procurement teams as appropriate.
§ Collect and arrange all pertinent internal and external data necessary to report on benefit realisation (as per the business case) throughout the delivery of the programme of work.
§ Support procurement processes needed for the programme to deliver project outcomes.
3. Governance and Documentation Management
§ Ensure that the Programme adheres to RDG principles, standards, and processes.
§ Produce, issue and manage papers for formal governance meetings, ensuring all necessary documentation is prepared and distributed in advance.
§ Take the lead on updating RDG’s internal project management system including documentation of risks and issues.
§ Maintain a repository of all programme documentation, ensuring accessibility and version control.
§ Manage formal meeting invites, when needed, ensuring all participants are informed and logistics are arranged.
§ Assure quality of the reporting and administration including recording and tracking all actions taken by the Lennon Programme to ensure timely and effective closure.
§ Provide regular updates on the Programme status to stakeholders.
§ Working with finance to track actual spend and control forecasts.
3 days per week or possible share with Passenger Assist

What experience, skills and knowledge do I need?
The successful candidate is likely to:
* Have broad vocational experience ideally within Transport, Travel, Retail, Utilities, Professional Services.
* Have experience of working within commercial/financial areas in a similar role.
* Have attention to detail, enabling issues to be identified, coupled with thoroughness and a determination to resolve them with a range of stakeholders.
* Be comfortable working independently and with a level of ambiguity.
* Have established and implemented processes within a range of environments.
* Have exceptional analytical skills and high-level capability within Excel.
* Good presentation skills and the ability to contribute to preparing presentations in PowerPoint.
* Be able to proactively balance competing priorities.
* Be a team player as will be working with all members on a daily basis.
