Reporting to the Lead Manufacturing Engineer, in this role you will get involved in a range of activities including but not limited too; Interpret a Bill of Materials to ensure all parts in an aircraft or key assembly are identified and managed through the product lifecycle. Interpret engineering drawings to create/amend work instructions and be able to identify the processes, tooling and equipment to maintain delivery and quality standards. Champion the process of New Product Introduction to support the introduction of new products or modification programmes into production. Aid production Non-Conformance (NC) rectification, in a product or process and be able to identify / gather the appropriate engineering data and deliver the containment, root cause analysis and corrective actions in a timely and appropriate manner. Play a key role in the Change Management process, helping plan, develop and execute the introduction of engineering change. Early identification of new equipment and materials to enable pro-active risk assessment of potential hazards. Involved with continuous improvement activities. Responsibilities Create and support the development of an mBom from the released eBoM and control all configuration changes Selection and control of appropriate manufacturing processes for all physical parts in a new assembly Implementation of comprehensive manufacturing plans for rate build including creating work instructions for all manufactured parts, sub-assemblies and assembly. Carry out build flow analysis and line balancing. Create technical specifications to define delivery standard (condition of supply) of sub-contracted items. Aid time estimate verification for detail manufacture and aircraft build. Support NCs and work with other functions to resolve arising technical issues. Lead Continuous Improvement via LEAN culture. Support Daily Stand-Up meetings and all programme deliverable administration. Support the full Quality Assurance activities to enable the company to maintain continued compliance with ISO9001:2015. Health & Safety Be a focal for good HSE standards and engagement within Production. When required or directed, participate in any HSE training. Ad Hoc Duties: Perform other tasks and support the wider software team as required About You Qualifications Desirable: Engineering Degree or HNC/BTEC 5 and/or Aerospace Engineering Apprenticeship. Skills and competencies Essential Manufacturing Engineering or Lead Technician experience. Working in an environment where safety and quality are the main priorities. Creation of Bill of Materials (eBom to mBom) Creation of work instructions from Engineering data. Competent use in CAD and PLM platforms Competent workshop practises and hand skills Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA) via 4D, 5Y, 5W2H techniques. Strong IT Skills, specifically in MS Office Apps. Quality Minded Attention to detail Continuous Improvement Champion Desirable Experience with remote-controlled vehicles and/or the aerospace industry. Confidence in the assembly of prototype/small batch electro-mechanical devices. Work with composite materials. Implementing solutions to support changes in build rate. Lean Manufacturing experience Creating specifications for tooling and equipment.
