What you will do in your working day
The apprenticeship will include mentorship from an experienced technician, classroom learning and the opportunity to earn industry recognised certifications within a main dealership environment. This pathway provides a solid foundation for a career in the automotive industry, often leading to full-time employment within group and further career opportunities.
* Basic Maintenance and Servicing: Performing routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, Tyres, and checking fluid levels to ensure vehicles are running smoothly.
* Diagnostics and Troubleshooting: Using diagnostic tools and equipment to identify issues with vehicles, including engine problems, electrical faults, and other mechanical issues.
* Assisting Senior Technicians: Working under the supervision of experienced technicians, helping with more complex repairs, and learning advanced techniques and procedures.
* Workshop Organisation: Keeping the workshop clean and organised, ensuring tools and equipment are properly stored, and assisting with inventory management.
* Customer Interaction: Occasionally interacting with customers, explaining basic issues or repairs needed for their vehicles, and learning how to provide good customer service.
* Continual Learning: Attending training sessions and workshops to learn new skills and stay updated on the latest automotive technologies and repair techniques.
The training you will be getting
* Level 3 Light Vehicle and Maintenance Technician qualification
* Attending College one day per week at City of Wolverhampton College
What to expect at the end of your apprenticeship
* Fully Qualified Level 3 Vehicle Technician to progress eventually into Diagnostic & Master Technician roles if desired. Full brand accreditation, possible career path into management roles in due course.
