Job title: Shipping Coordinator
Reporting to: European Shipping Manager
Location: Bury St. Edmunds, Suffolk (Hybrid working opportunities available)
Hours: 37.5 hours per week
The Opportunity
As a Shipping Coordinator, you will be responsible for providing efficient day-to-day coordination and administrative support to our Exports activities. You will play a vital role in ensuring regulatory compliance of our exports and effective movement of goods globally to fulfil our internal and external customer requirements.
What you’ll be doing
The responsibilities of this role include but are not limited to:
1. Arranging export shipments, covering all modes of transport - Air, Sea and Road.
2. Preparing associated export documentation, including Health Certificates and Certificates of Origin and Export Licenses.
3. Processing export entries using our software platform.
4. Supporting the effective flow of information between all departments including Goods-in, Sales, Labs, Planning and Shipping.
5. Providing cover to Import mode.
6. Collating information for the implementation of new structures and systems to support the business.
7. Ensuring JDE information is up to date and submitting new information where necessary.
8. Reviewing changes within the freight industry to identify changes in legislation.
What we’re looking for

1. 5 GCSEs or equivalent to Grade C (4) or above (including English and Maths).
2. A minimum of two years’ working in an office-based environment.
3. Dangerous Goods by Air, Sea or Road qualifications desirable but not essential.
4. Strong organisational skills with the ability to take initiative, be proactive, manage changing priorities and work independently.
5. Great interpersonal and relationship skills.
6. An ownership mentality with the aptitude to work independently as required.
7. Excellent communication skills, spoken and written.
8. Export experience is beneficial but not essential.
9. Ability to build good working relationships with colleagues and customers.
10. Excellent attention to detail, friendly and helpful nature.
11. Proven ability to prioritise workloads and meet tight deadlines.
12. Proven ability to work on own initiative.
13. Strong PC Literacy including Word & Excel.
14. Curiosity, drive and determination to make continuous improvements.
