This role is for a Radio IT Systems Specialist to join a talented team, delivering highly technical, bespoke radio systems and projects.
Job Description:
* Design and build bespoke RF/wireless technical solutions according to the customer requirements.
* Configuration and test of Network devices (Switches/Routers), IT equipment (servers/PCs) individually and as part of the whole radio system in the assigned project.
* Microwave links design, Ofcom licence applications and liaising with clients on technical issues.
* Preparation of technical design documents, FAT & SAT documents.
* Preparation code-plugs/fleet plans for customer requirements (Motorola & Tait).
* Troubleshooting and maintenance of telecommunication equipment from vendors such as Motorola and Tait.
* Fault management with log analysis, defects debug and work around responsibility.
* Business support: analysis and presentation of new products or solutions.
* Providing technical support to the communication systems in major contracts.
* Strong customer facing skills interfacing at various levels (technical and managerial) with high profile customers.
* Share knowledge and understanding in a coherent fashion, a professional approach, especially with the customer, and to guide and support other members of the team through support and education.
* Converse and engage at all levels with the ability to explain a technical solution to a non-technical audience.
* Lead by example and be an advocate for positive change.

Skills and Experience:
* Highly experienced in the production of detailed RF/wireless systems including wide area, single and multi-site PMR/DMR radio, RFoF, DAS, and microwave links.
* Expertise with radio prediction and design tools.
* In-depth knowledge of radio networks and architectures as well as specific technologies. DMR (2 and 3), TETRA, MPT1327, point to point/multipoint microwave and Mesh/wireless broadband networks.
* Capable of providing IT networking configuration (WAN/LAN) along with appropriate IT/networking experience/qualification.
* Hands on experience of general and specific RF and IT lab equipment.
* Highly experienced in commissioning wireless and fixed networks.
* Experienced in analysing survey data as both a design validation and system commissioning tool.
* Strong customer facing skills interfacing at various levels (technical, managerial, and commercial) with high profile customers.
* Ability to share knowledge and understanding in a coherent fashion with a professional approach, especially with the client and to guide junior staff.
