Overall job purpose
You will be a key member of the growing financial reporting advisory national team, focusing on clients within the London and Southern region. As an assistant manager, you will support the team and assist managers in delivering work across corporate clients, emphasizing technical accounting, financial reporting, and consolidations. Responsibilities include applying accounting standards under FRS 102, IFRS, and FRS 101, group reconstructions, accounting considerations, conversion to different GAAPs, technical papers, and acquisition support. The role also involves preparing and managing statutory accounts under IFRS and FRS 101.
The department's rapid growth offers opportunities to develop skills in business development and coaching junior staff. You'll work with colleagues and businesses across the UK and support your local office. A solid understanding of UK GAAP and IFRS is essential, along with good report writing skills for financial reporting advisory projects.
Responsibilities
* Support managers in delivering complex accounting projects, such as IFRS transition or acquisition accounting.
* Maintain advanced technical knowledge through reading and courses, fulfilling CPD requirements, and staying updated on firm publications.
* Serve as a primary contact with clients, communicating issues and proposing solutions.
* Manage a portfolio of clients and projects, ensuring client care, project management, and billing are handled efficiently.
* Coordinate with other departments, especially audit and tax, to meet deadlines and resolve issues.
* Coach junior team members and participate in training and supervision; line management may be involved depending on experience.
* Willingness to travel to client sites; most work is office-based.

* ACA qualification or equivalent.
* Experience in UK GAAP and IFRS financial reporting.
* Experience in professional practice or providing written accounting advice.
