Retail store assistant (with keyholder responsibility)
£12.21 per hour plus benefits
Reports to: Shop manager
Department: Trading
Contract: Permanent
Hours: 6 – Sundays only
Location: Linlithgow Shop

Role overview: We’re seeking a motivated retail assistant to join our trading team, acting as an ambassador for Cancer Research UK and taking responsibility for the shop on Sundays.
Key responsibilities:
1. Oversee the shop’s operation on Sundays, including keyholder duties (training provided) and supporting volunteers.
2. Assist the team in achieving sales and fundraising targets.
3. Review and process donated goods and new stock.
4. Generate creative ideas to increase income, with guidance from the Shop Manager.
5. Provide excellent customer service to make supporters feel welcome and appreciated.
6. Maintain shop standards regarding safeguarding, compliance, and health & safety.
7. Perform manual handling and physical activities as required.
Candidate requirements:
* Knowledge of excellent customer service practices.
* Experience working in lively environments.
* Adaptability to changing situations, ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Commercial awareness.
* Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
* Flexibility for rota-based work, respecting work-life balance.
