This team presents a real opportunity to make a visible impact in a fast growth global business for a motivated sustainability professional who is driven to work within a business and galvanise action. You are a subject matter expert in environmental sustainability with demonstrated experience in managing and delivering sustainability projects in a fast-paced consumer goods environment. You are skilled at engaging a range of audiences and communicating complex issues and opportunities for change into tangible and pragmatic solutions. As the Senior Sustainability Manager, you will develop and manage projects for progressing against our KPI's, ensure that we have accurate data that is easily tracked and reported, and along with the wider team inspire and mobilise sustainability action and business initiatives to support delivery of our strategy. As a Senior Sustainability Manager you will Identify, develop, and manage projects that support in the delivery of the Sustainability Strategy contributing to the 2030 KPIs and targets across climate action, nature stewardship, sustainable sourcing and circular economy. Collaborate and co-ordinate with functions across the business to engage and energise teams on delivery of sustainability projects. Ensure projects have agreed outcomes with project teams and maintain regular project performance and progress updates to keep projects on time, in budget and in line with agreed sustainability deliverables. Provide subject-matter expertise on environmental issues, how to manage the associated risks and opportunities, and implementation of best practice environmental standards and policies to support functions and suppliers with delivery of sustainability commitments e.g. waste, carbon, water, biodiversity, responsible sourcing. Ensure that the environmental performance of our suppliers is regularly measured and monitored; improvement plans developed; data for carbon and lifecycle assessments is accurate and readily accessed; identify opportunities for further supplier engagement; share best practice and develop training. Ensure that external and internal environmental reporting requirements are met with accurate data and timely submissions (e.g. Carbon, CDP, TCFD). Support reporting for the Parent company’s non-financial disclosures and prepare and deliver updates and reports for the Sustainable Business Committee. Identify opportunities to weave sustainability requirements and activity into business transformation and internal change projects with supply chain, finance and product development that support in improving ways of working and enhancing reporting requirements. Support employees and suppliers in understanding our goals by developing training and engagement opportunities that inspire and drive action. Ensure any sustainability related Internal or external communications meet appropriate guidelines. Stay informed of best-practice, changes in regulations, customer expectations, and retailer contractual requirements. Who you will work with Reports to Head of Sustainability. Partners with Procurement, Supply Chain, Finance, Legal, Store Design, New Product Development, Quality, Regulatory and Packaging teams. About you Demonstrated In depth experience of developing and managing sustainability projects such as Scope 3 reductions, Circular Economy initiatives, Sustainable Sourcing, in a fast-paced environment (ideally within an FMCG business). Expertise in environmental sustainability in areas such as biodiversity, climate action, water stewardship and sustainable sourcing. A good understanding of how environmental, social, and economic factors interrelate, and the salient environmental risks in the Cosmetics and Skincare industry. Excellent knowledge of sustainability reporting standards, frameworks and tools (GHG Protocol, SBTi, TCFD, TNFD, CSRD, EU/UK taxonomy, UN SDGs, EcoVadis, ISO14001). Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, able to manage multiple workstreams with a methodical approach and with the ability to prioritise important and urgent tasks. Experience of implementing environmental policies, procedures and management systems. Collaborative and able to influence and engage a range of audiences (internal and external) with strong communication skills. Experience of coaching, developing and managing direct reports. Confident and competent in MS Office applications and BI dashboards (Excel, PowerPoint, Looker). Experience working with external organisations, industry partners, NGOs and Brands to advance sustainability changes and improvements. Able to travel both in the UK and internationally if required.
