Mechanical Engineer - Permanent - Kent - UK - £40,000
One of the UK's leading ports is recruiting for a Mechanical Engineer to join the team in Kent.
The key responsibilities will include (but not exhaustive to);
* Carry out all aspects of improvement, maintenance and repair works to the Ports assets.
* This will include a wide range of engineering plant, equipment, and installations.
* Maintenance and repairs will be required on Linkspans, HGV’s, RORO Tugs, Cranes, Hydraulic systems, vehicles, and small floating craft.
To qualify for this role, candidates must have completed an apprenticeship in a mechanical discipline to at least NVQ level 3 standard, along with associated City & Guilds or equivalent certifications.
Additionally, you should possess at least three years of post-trade qualification experience in the relevant discipline.
The ideal candidate will have experience with hydraulic systems, heavy machinery, plant, and vehicles, as well as knowledge of reviewing and creating Risk Assessment Method Statements (RAMS).
Experience in welding and fabrication would be advantageous.
A good standard of IT literacy and a full driving license are required
