Job Description:
This job is responsible for building and leading a team to deliver technology products and services that meet business outcomes. Key responsibilities include developing a technology strategy, ensuring technology solutions comply with applicable standards, promoting design, engineering, and organizational practices, and advocating and advancing modern, Agile solution delivery practices. Job expectations may include coaching, mentoring, providing feedback and hands on career development, identifying emerging talent, fostering leadership skills, and managing stakeholders.
Overview:
We are the Operational Intelligence Team, a collaborative elite group of passionate and talented developers, engineers, and architects. We lead the creation and management of monitoring and observability solutions at Bank of America.
This role is an experienced manager, who is responsible for building and leading a team to deliver technology products and services that meet business outcomes. Their primary responsibility is to the people they manage, ensuring they are developing through coaching, mentoring, feedback, and hands on career development. Other key responsibilities may include developing a technology strategy and ensuring technology solutions comply with applicable standards. This role advocates and advances modern, Agile solution delivery practices and evangelizes great design, engineering and organizational practices.
Responsibilities:
* Builds and manages teams by performing financial activities to inform workforce strategy and hiring practices, setting and tracking maturity and quality objectives, and training employees/teams to address feedback and achieve quality and performance objectives.
* Facilitates performance and career development of employees/teams through performance reviews, coaching, and creating development plans that are needed to build competencies and skills.
* Manages solution delivery and application performance in production (app health, resiliency, performance, security, enterprise data management standards, audit exams and reviews), ensuring all relevant risk, financial, and compliance policies are met.
* Manages relationships with business and technology partners and leads and creates followership in Communities of Practice in the organization.
* Contributes to the technology strategy for their technical domain.
* Creates an inclusive and healthy working environment and helps to resolve organizational impediments/blockers.
* Ensures that execution is aligned with product strategy by working with product management and other stakeholders.
* Accountable for team/program level resource and financial management; build and maintain teams through talent acquisition.
* Set maturity objectives and provide individuals/teams with training and resources to achieve them.
* Set and track quality and performance objectives.
* Facilitate performance and career development of individuals through performance reviews, coaching, and building individual development plans that are needed to develop competencies and skills.
* Understand individual and team maturity and performance through team/client feedback.
* Manage relationships with the business and technology leaders, and vendors for technical products.
* Be accountable for solution delivery management as relevant to their teams (for example, prioritizing tech debt, compliance and security items, and supporting audits).
* Be accountable to ensure all relevant risk, financial, and compliance polices, and standards are met.
* Be accountable for the application performance in production (app health, resiliency, performance, security, enterprise data management standards, audit exams and reviews).
* Create the technology strategy for their technical domain.
* Ensure that execution is aligned with product strategy by working with Product Management, Product Owners, and other stakeholders.
* Create an inclusive and healthy working environment and help to resolve organizational impediments/blockers.

Required Qualifications:
* Has managed teams larger than 10 resources and experience in complex technology environments at large companies.
* Strong technical knowledge of operating system, middleware and database technologies.
* Strong understanding of Monitoring and Observability technologies and tools.
Desired Qualifications:
* Experience managing IBM Netcool suite of tools or equivalent competing tool vendor.
* Experience managing team size of at least 15 people.
* Demonstratable experience scaling an event management environment.
* Ability to be hands on keyboard in terms of helping to solve issues and configure environments.
