UK Engineering Tooling Support Architect
Leonardo has an exciting opportunity to contribute at a senior level, to the development, deployment and maintenance of its tooling and application strategy.
Working within the Engineering Improvements function as Engineering Tooling Support Architect (UK), the individual will be responsible for forming a strategic view of the tooling and applications infrastructure of Leonardo Electronics UK, and facilitating alignment of that view between Engineering and Digital Solutions (IT) functions to ensure that strategy can be realised. At a tactical level, the individual will support and promote UK-wide adoption of new capabilities, and support the creation of processes and training material as necessary.
Reporting to the Head of Engineering Improvements (UK), the role has two main areas of responsibility and influence: within our Future Factory Programme, and to coordinate our business as usual (BAU) strategy via our Engineering Tooling Infrastructure Forum (ETIF).
The role is at UK level and can be located at any of the main UK sites on an onsite, hybrid or remote basis (flexible depending on the successful candidate's needs); travel will be required to other locations within the UK.
What you will do:
Day to day, you will be working closely with the main Functions and Technology Units within the Electronics UK Business Unit, as well as within our Future Factory Programme.
You will:
* Support Key activities in Future Factory Programme and GCAP Transformation Programme
* Act as a subject matter expert for TCU (Teamcenter Unified) implementation and roll out
* Act as a subject matter expert for REALM tool implementation
* Support Digital Thread realisation, and interface and integration of TCU & REALM with other tools used in the organisation
* Promote UK-wide adoption of TCU and future tools
* Work with change champions to help realise evolving benefits of Digital Transformation in Engineering.
* Align tooling and application strategy with overall Digital Thread implementation
* Work with Digital Solutions (IT) to manage business cases, priorities, and benefit realisation of tool introduction, maintenance and retirement

* Experience of managing multiple projects and reporting on progress
* Capability to identify and direct improvements to complex technical and business processes, judging the balance between the cost and impact of change and its resulting benefits.
* The ability to understand complex engineering processes and the inter-dependency of the process components
* A passion for promoting and driving Continuous Improvement initiatives
* Experience and subject matter expertise in a range of engineering tools and applications, including: Siemens Teamcenter Unified (TCU), PLM tool experience in addition to TCU
It would be helpful, but not essential, if you have:
* A degree in Engineering or a Business related subject
* Good awareness and working knowledge of other business functions; Quality, Procurement, Operations, and Project Management
* Six Sigma Green Belt Qualification or similar
* Prince2 Project Management Qualification or similar
