Environmental Advisor Aberdeen What you will be doing: An opportunity has arisen for an Environmental Advisor to join the team at Galliford Try. The Environmental Advisor role is critical in driving improvement and consistency in performance, ensuring compliance with management systems, and driving continual improvement initiatives. You will sit as part of our wider HS&E team, reporting operationally to the Framework HS&E Manager and functionally to the Regional Environmental Manager. You will have opportunity to influence the overall environmental strategy for our Environment business and the wider group. As Environmental Advisor you will work collaboratively with the Framework Environmental Manager and Regional Environmetal Manger on all environmental construction aspects. You will be expected to provide technical environmental assurance and support to the framework business functions and where relevant contribute to wider GT group environmental functions. This involves, but is not limited to, environmental auditing and compliance, supporting project teams on license applications, managing client interfaces, and providing environmental advice and support to all project and business teams. Key responsibilities: Foster and support an inclusive, open, transparent, and collaborative environment to develop our HS&E culture, maturity, and behaviours to deliver HS&E excellence. Provide environmental support and advice throughout the project lifecycle to our design and construction teams including design, process risk reviews, pre-start meetings, initial site start up, high risk – Risk Assessment and Method Statement Reviews. Undertakes and manages assurance audits through our cloud-based system (Active SHEQ) from start to finish including the planning, undertaking and resolution of actions from Site Safety and Environmental Reviews. Assist the design and construction teams in the completion of environmental license applications and planning condition responses including regulatory interface as required. Undertake incident Investigations, write initial learnings slide and support the incident response process from start to finish including creating learnings and communications to the business. Manage and track to closure of Corrective Action Plans required for projects following an incident. Engage and influence internal and external key stakeholders, including client, supply chain partners, regulatory authorities, industry bodies, and colleagues, through the plan, prepare and delivery of project lifecycle. Develop and lead on environmental training and inductions supporting framework functions and wider GT group business as required including roll out of core competency courses. Support the business in the roll out Net Zero Carbon Strategy for Construction Carbon and the wider GT Group and Business Unit supporting environmental strategies (Protect, Enhance and Legacy). About You: Knowledge of data analytics and reporting systems. Proven at delivering results and meeting HS&E, financial and operational KPIs. Fully conversant with the Microsoft suite of packages Experienced in delivering HS&E performance in project lifecycle environment Degree qualified in a relevant environmental discipline Full driving licence and willingness to travel across projects / contracts in region.
