Job Title: Senior IFRS 17 Accountant
Location: London
Job Summary: The Senior IFRS 17 accountant will be working alongside the IFRS 17 Finance Manager and a wide range of stakeholders across the business. The primary responsibilities are working as part of the IFRS 17 BAU team owning day-to-day activities, including reviewing IFRS 17 assumptions, analysis of the outputs of the IFRS 17 calculation engine and the production of the quarterly and annually key deliverables.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Assisting the IFRS 17 Finance manager to oversee the IFRS 17 quarterly reporting, monitoring any delays or changes that can help improve the working day timetable for the next quarter;
2. Review and sign off finance data assumptions, working closely with IFRS 17 Actuarial team to validate results;
3. Generating the GAAP to IFRS 17 bridging such as IFRS 4 reallocation, working closely with the other reporting basis teams to ensure all differences are correctly captured and communicated;
4. Leading the IFRS 17 to GAAP analysis and Balance sheet reconciliations;
5. Maintaining/enhancing the current processes and control documentation and ensuring compliance with quarterly IFRS 17 control frameworks;
6. Taking ownership (i.e. oversight and maintenance) of the chart of accounts and ledger posting;
7. Preparing and reviewing IFRS 17 related Notes and Disclosures, working closely with the group team to ensure the successful delivery of the Beazley plc interim and annual reports;
8. Supporting Technical accounting activities such as monitoring IFRS 17 requirements and communicating closely with the IFRS 17 Finance Manager if any changes arise;
9. Knowledge sharing of IFRS 17 accounting related advice and expertise to the wider business;
10. Communicating closely with the external auditor during the interim and annual reporting periods.

Knowledge and Experience
1. Qualified general insurance accountant - ACA/ACCA/CIMA;
2. Experience of IFRS 17 and other regulatory accounting standards;
3. Experience liaising with auditors and third-party consultancies;
4. External audit experience either as part of an audit team or as part of a finance team;
5. Agile delivery / project delivery.
