About the Role:
We are looking for a Family Support Worker to join our Children's Services team. You will work intensively with families to support children and young people up to 18 years old. Using evidence-based methods and a strength-based approach, you will help improve family wellbeing, promote safeguarding, and ensure positive outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide direct support to families, helping improve parenting skills and school attendance.
* Act as a key worker, collaborating with social workers and other agencies.
* Offer practical and emotional support to families facing challenges such as mental health issues, substance misuse, or disability.
* Attend meetings (including Child Protection Conferences) and contribute reports.
* Complete accurate records and deliver evidence-based parenting programs.
* Must have the ability to drive and transport children/families as needed.
Essential Qualifications & Experience:
* NVQ Level 3 or 4 in working with children or young people (or working towards).
* Experience in working with children and families in difficult situations.
* Knowledge of child development, safeguarding, and early help services.
* Full driving licence and access to a vehicle.
* Enhanced DBS required.
