We are seeking an experienced and skilled Night Nurse Manager to join our team at Active Care Group, a leading provider of Neuro and Mental Healthcare in the UK. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the hospital's night shift operations, ensuring that staffing levels are adequate and that high-quality care is delivered to patients.
Job Description
The Night Nurse Manager will have overall responsibility for the hospital during night shifts, overseeing staffing levels, patient care, and adherence to ACG standards and policies. Key responsibilities include:
* To take a handover from all wards, including updates on incidents, staffing levels, and actions required to be carried forward.
* To check each ward has the right mix of staff to care for patients and that all wards are staffed equally.
* Make any required changes to staffing, ensuring each ward has an equal allocation of permanent/agency staff, skill/gender mix.
* Attempt to cover any shifts not covered by using the Matrix system.
* Each ward should report all incidents, seclusions, sickness, DNA's to the Night Nurse Manager to be recorded on the Night report at the end of each shift.
* Prepare a Night Report detailing actual staffing numbers against budgeted numbers, young people on enhanced support, any incidents that have occurred, and planned interventions that have been missed.
The ideal candidate will have 2+ years of post-registration experience as a Registered Mental Health Nurse, with active NMC registration. They should demonstrate a positive attitude, commitment to change, improvement, and quality, with good working knowledge of the Mental Health Act. Experience in duty nurse roles or equivalent is essential, with preference given to those with experience in Acute in-patient settings.
