An opportunity has presented to join a leading Private Equity investor in European and Transatlantic software and service businesses in London. With 400 employees and $65bn in AUM, supporting a large portfolio of businesses, their inclusive and supportive culture enables them to attract the best talent, and management teams, investing in people for the long term. As they continue to expand their portfolio, they are are seeking an experienced Employment Counsel to join their legal and HR team, and provide strategic guidance on employment-related matters in the UK and across the wider firm and portfolio. This is a part-time appointment, equivalent to around 25 hours per week (possibly more). Key responsibilities will include: Providing legal advice and counsel on a wide range of employment matters, including firm policies and practices, employee relations, performance development, and separations. Scope, design and own templates for employment-related agreements, such as offer letters, employment contracts, separation agreements, consulting agreements, and NDAs. Developing and implementing employment policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with applicable local employment laws and regulations and industry best practice. Collaborating with the People team and outside counsel to address and resolve employment disputes with support from the General Counsel and CPO. Supporting the People team in co-delivering workshops for management and employees on employment law topics, such as DE&I and conduct at work. Monitoring and analysing developments in employment laws and regulations, and advise management on potential impacts and recommended actions. Managing relationships, alongside the General Counsel and CPO, with outside counsel on employment-related matters in order to provide employment support across their global jurisdictions. Supporting the portfolio value creation team on projects and portfolio related workflows relating to employment matters. The ideal applicant will have: A minimum of 5 years’ legal experience in UK employment law, preferably a combination of leading law firm and in-house experience. Familiarity in working with clients in the Private Equity industry and / or financial services sector is a key advantage. Competence in UK employment laws and regulations and the ability to liaise (with external counsel support), across their global jurisdictions in the US, EMEA and APAC.
