Principal Transport Planning Officer
Salary scale (10) - £42,403 - £45,441
We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced professional to join our team in Hull as a Principal Transport Planning Officer. Based in our Highways team as part of our wider Major Projects, Culture and Place service, the role forms part of our Strategic Transport and Development team. Working with colleagues in our public transport, engineering, carbon management and Local Plan teams, you will be developing the policies, strategies, and investment schemes to enable the Council to meet its aspirations for clean economic growth and sustainable travel.
You will play a leading role in developing our new Local Transport Plan, the ongoing development of our Local Cycling and Walking Infrastructure Plan along with other transport strategies and policy documents. You will provide expert transport advice to assist in the preparation of our revised Local Plan and develop highway and transport improvement schemes to support a safe, accessible and sustainable city.
Educated to degree level or able to demonstrate equivalent professional experience, you will have experience in developing Local Transport Plans, transport policies or other strategic documents. Good communication skills are required and experience in public consultation or engagement would be useful. Good project development and delivery skills to coordinate, plan and monitor projects are also required.
