Junior Fabric Designer Key tasks: Support the Senior Fabric Designer with curating fabric Collections across our customer portfolio. Liaising with suppliers and customers to ensure sample fabrics arrive on time, then pass to the development team for product sampling. Support the creation of fabric swatch and trend boards, and help to maintain the fabric sample room, keeping it organised and tidy. Co-ordinate the journey of the fabric through the business including booking in, receipting on the ERP system, sending swatches for testing, and maintaining internal swatch files. Monitor orders through production, ensuring all fabrics are labelled and passed to production departments. Add new fabrics to the ERP system, with all relevant information. Liaise with suppliers to help maintain the ‘library’ of fabric information on the ERP system. Create purchase orders. Assist with showroom set up, when required. The person: Background working in similar design environment preferable, but not essential. Someone creative and preferably with have a Design qualification, but not necessarily in Textiles. Has an interest in interiors and fabric/fashion trends and has some fabric knowledge. Can work under pressure on a range of projects within a fast-paced environment and is happy to ‘get stuck in’ with varied day to day tasks. Good attention to detail, and experience of working on different computer systems. Someone happy to learn and gain experience as they grow into the role. Confident to present and communicate ideas internally and with customer facing presentations. Flexible, as occasional travel and overtime may be required. Manual handling training will be provided.
