We offer a competitive salary range of $200,000 - $300,000 per year, commensurate with experience.
Job Description
This is an exciting opportunity for a seasoned leader in computational biology to join our dynamic team. As the Senior Computational Scientist Leader, you will oversee the development and application of computational methods for addressing scientific questions in pre-clinical research and translational medicine. Your expertise will be crucial in shaping the direction of our global data science team and its role within the broader CSL R&D ecosystem.
You will report directly to the Senior Director, Global Head of Data Science, and collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including Data Management and Engineering and Biostatistics. Your primary responsibilities will include:
* Developing and implementing strategies for enabling research biology and translational medicine activities through computational methods
* Supporting and implementing a robust recruitment and talent development strategy to attract top talent, providing scientific and career development mentorship
* Fostering partnerships between your team and other groups within CSL, promoting seamless integration of computational scientists across project portfolios
* Driving the development of overall competency among direct reports and data literacy amongst scientists at CSL, encouraging learning and development opportunities
* Maintaining and enhancing CSL's research profile within industry networks

Required Skills and Qualifications
* A PhD in a relevant scientific discipline and at least 8 years of experience in drug development or a related field
* Recognition as a world-leading scientist in your area of work, excellent publication record, and participation in international meetings and conferences
* Demonstrated leadership skills, with a track record of developing early & mid-career scientists
* Experience working in interdisciplinary research environments and building successful relationships within and between organisations/institutes
* Excellent oral and written communication skills, with experience managing large and complex projects and teams
