Job Opportunity: Site Manager
Location: Guildford
Salary: Up to £55,000 plus package
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a skilled Site Manager to work with a leading contractor in the wastewater industry on a major project based in Guildford. This role offers the chance to play a key part in delivering a high-profile project while ensuring that all site operations are conducted safely, efficiently, and in an environmentally responsible manner.
Purpose of the Role
The Site Manager is responsible for managing all site activities, ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards, and coordinating effectively with the project team, sub-contractors, and clients.
Key Responsibilities
·Ensure compliance with company procedures, quality assurance, and health and safety standards.
·Supervise sub-contractors to ensure adherence to project timelines, budgets, and quality expectations.
·Maintain strong communication and relationships with the client and internal teams.
·Manage site facilities and ensure high standards of accommodation and resources.
·Oversee material handling, ensuring efficient and safe storage.
·Produce and distribute accurate daily site records.
·Act as the company's environmental representative on-site.
·Monitor project progress, report delays, and provide updates to the Project Manager.
·Fulfill health, safety, and environmental responsibilities in line with company policies.
Performance Indicators
·Successful project completion and client handover.
·Effective implementation of health and safety regulations.
·Efficient management of the site team and sub-contractors.
·Accurate and timely completion of all required documentation.
·Resolution of project snags before client handover.
Qualifications & Experience
Essential:
·A formal engineering qualification (minimum HNC or equivalent preferred).
·IOSH Managing Safely in Construction or NEBOSH certification.
·SMSTS/SSSTS certification.
·CSCS or affiliated card (e.g., SHEA Water, ECS).
·National Water Hygiene Card (for potable water projects).
·Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other relevant IT tools.
·Demonstrable experience in a site management role, ideally within the water/wastewater industry or related sectors.
Desirable:
·First Aid at Work or Emergency First Aid certification.
·C&G Confined Space Entry qualification.
