As an organisation, we recognise the value of a healthy work-life balance. When applying, speak to us about how we might be able to accommodate flexible working, so your work life fits around your home life.
We particularly welcome applications from Black, Asian and minority ethnic candidates as they are under-represented within the Trust.
Main duties of the job
If you have a passion for good nutrition, an enthusiastic attitude to work, and a desire to help children and families, this may be the job for you. You will work under the supervision of community dietitians, supporting patients and their families to implement dietary plans and additionally support research projects within the department. This will involve attending clinics in paediatric community hubs and the hospital, speaking to families over the phone, via email and face-to-face, and supporting patient education sessions. You will carry out both clinical tasks (i.e. weighing and measuring) and administrative tasks.
Experience of working with people is essential, with knowledge and/or an appreciation of different cultures, religions, ethnic groups, and disabilities. Experience in healthcare and working with children is desirable. You must be able to drive and have your own vehicle to travel within Bristol, South Gloucestershire, and North Somerset. Good communication skills, written and spoken English, basic Maths, and good IT literacy are essential.
As the post involves some lone working, you must be self-motivated and show initiative while recognising limitations. Good attention to detail is essential.
