Purpose of role
The Finance Centre is Grosvenor’s UK centre of excellence for financial reporting and control. Within this framework, the Reporting team manages the UK Urban Property business and wider Group internal and external reporting requirements. Collectively these businesses manage c.£11bn of assets and c.£6bn of Grosvenor’s equity, deployed internationally across development and investment activities.
The London Estate Management Accountant will play a key role in the delivery of accurate, timely and well controlled accounting for the LE portfolio. The role will also be involved in accounting for London Estate portfolio transactions such as acquisitions and disposals as well as reviewing monthly accruals and prepayment. This feeds into the London Estate financial reporting which provides senior leaders with the insight and understanding to inform decision making and enhance business performance.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the reporting of parts of the London Estate residential, retail, office, and hotel assets. The portfolio constitutes c.£3bn of the wider London Estate portfolio, consisting of c.£5bn assets in total across Mayfair and Belgravia. This is an excellent opportunity to develop knowledge and skill in a large multi-sector property business and work as part of an enthusiastic, high performing team.
Key responsibilities
1. Year to date monthly reporting (by location and district) and other management reporting as required by the stakeholders.
2. Contributing insightful and commercially driven commentary on the year to date results for the district and location reporting.
3. Developing strong working relationships with the Asset Managers and Management Surveyors.
4. Reconciliations of balance sheet accounts and maintain financial controls.
5. Preparing subsidiary statutory accounts for London Estate entities and liaising with auditors.
6. Assist the UK Reporting Manager with the preparation of property movement analyses on a monthly and year-end basis.
7. Preparing ad hoc reporting and analysis to facilitate informed decision making.
8. Follow agreed processes and identify ways to improve processes, enhancing accuracy and efficiency.
9. Improve the effectiveness of the team’s use of the financial reporting systems and share knowledge with other Grosvenor teams.
10. Keep up to date with changes in accounting standards.
Key relationships
11. Work closely with the UK Reporting Manager and Senior Management Accountant (Trust) in the delivery of the monthly, quarterly and year end reporting cycles.
12. Develop a strong working relationship with the finance business partnering team to ensure strong communication of the year to date results to inform their forecasting and budgeting processes.
13. Liaise with the location and district Asset Managers and Management Surveyors in order to provide them with insightful financial reporting to inform their commercial decision making.
Essential requirements
14. Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)
15. Highly diligent with a keen eye for detail
16. Track record of working with large data sets

18. Some post qualified experience, preferably in industry
19. Advanced excel skills, and experience using accounting software (e.g. Yardi Voyager, Cognos, Caseware)
