The Opportunity
We are currently recruiting for a Procurement Officer, who will work with our Procurement Manager, to undertake a wide variety of procurement activity across SHG. You will contribute to the delivery of our Mission and Aims, where the customer is at the heart of everything we do.
This is a unique role within the business where you can develop, shape and embed processes, coming up with new ideas and creative solutions. You will be working with a range of people across the business to ensure SHG is compliant with legislative requirements as well as focussing on outcomes for our customers.
You will need to have a sound understanding of the public procurement requirements – both current and emerging – and how these affect SHG. You will be able to develop and implement policies and procedures and get key stakeholders on board with new ways of working. This will require great organisational, project management and influencing skills!
We are looking for someone who can spot opportunities for change and make things happen. You will be at the forefront of our proactive procurement approaches that ensure that SHG delivers value for money, improved service delivery for our customers, enhanced inclusivity and wider social value which benefits our local communities.

This is a full-time position (37 hours over 5 days) but if you would like to discuss an alternate working pattern or reduced hours, then please let us know as part of your application. This position is based at our modern town centre head office alongside which there are opportunities to work flexibly (including from home) which suit both SHG and you. This provides flexibility to our people as we deliver outcomes to our customers and meet business needs.
