Systems Engineer
Location: Trostre (SA14)
Salary: Up to £37,000 + annual and quarterly bonus
The Systems Engineer will design, implement, and maintain control systems that enhance the efficiency and performance of our client's plant operations. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge process technologies and drive improvements across manufacturing sites.
Responsibilities:
* Analyse, design, specify, budget, procure, install, and commission process control systems and associated specialised equipment.
* Manage existing process control systems to maximise plant availability and performance.
* Develop, test, and modify software applications to meet plant needs.
* Ensure systems meet technical and functional objectives while adhering to quality assurance standards.
* Prepare system specifications for tendering purposes and supervise external contract staff to ensure project delivery.
* Lead the commissioning of systems to meet project specifications and provide out-of-hours fault correction or support as required.
* Assess tenders to select the best technical and cost-effective solutions for the plant.
* Participate in call-out systems for plant support and provide out-of-hours assistance as needed.
* Use SAP and manage changes with the creation of Management of Change documents.
What you will need:
You should have a degree or equivalent qualification in a science or engineering discipline and experience in process control systems. The Systems Engineer must have a good knowledge of systems development, programming languages, SCADA, databases, networks, and operating systems. Strong interpersonal skills are essential for communicating complex technical issues at all levels.
